Under 18's nail first part of double...
Slimbridge Under 18s completed the first half of what we hope will be a fantastic double this season, beating Bishops Cleeve Under 18s 4-3 on penalties in the S.Turier & Sons Floodlit Cup Final at Evesham United this evening.
Leading early on from a Will Tainton Strike, the Swans had to withstand the loss of Jake Tronier to two very suspect yellow cards and two Cleeve goals to leave them behind at the break.
However, the Swans dug deep, refusing to give up and Kieran Bennett's 89 minute equaliser was no more than they deserved to send the game to penalties.
Will Tainton, Theo Clayson, Tyler Jaggers and Callum McLean all buried their spot kicks to see the Swans triumph 4-3 on penalties.
The Young Swans now turn their attention to next week, and two away League games that will decide their season. They currently sit top of the table, and a win from either their away game at Tuffley on Monday or Lydney on Wednesday will see them clinch the League Title.
