Jack Lovell scored a 93rd minute equaliser for promotion play-off chasing Bashley FC to deny Slimbridge the three points at Thornhill Park.
It was the home side who started the match in better shape as both Ethan Dunbar and Joe Shutt linked up well with Will Hawes along the front line.
At 12 minutes the Swans took the lead as James Sunley showed his class to beat his man and get to the byline before crossing to Dunbar who won his header superbly, finishing past Ross Casey in the Bashley net.
The opener came just a minute before Bashley had the opportunity to take the lead themselves, Lewis Adams got down well to save a close range effort from Lovell.
Minutes later it was Dunbar creating the chances, after escaping the challenges of two Bashley players Dunbar crossed to Shutt whose shot was blocked well by the Bash defence.
Shutt would last just five minutes more as he was forced to come off after picking up an injury, the forward was replaced by Marley Thomas.
As the half went on the away side grew into the game, both Levi Francis and Thomas combined well to defend a threatening attack, the efforts of both the players were recognised by the home support.
Bashley continued to press for an equaliser but the home defence stood firm until half time.
The second-half proved much the same as Matt Tubbs' side fought for an equaliser to keep their play-off hopes intact.
With the Slimbridge defence dealing with everything coming their way, clear-cut chances were proving rare for Bashley and time was running out.
With 10 minutes left, Billy Lowes drove through challenges and into a promising shooting area however his shot was met well by Adams.
The Bashley pressure grew into injury time where a 93rd minute winner fell to Lovell inside the six-yard box and past Adams in goal.
After the game interim manager Adam Coyle praised the Swans' performance.
"We've told the lads how good they were, we started superbly. The goal we scored was absolutely brilliant.
"We knew they were going to have a spell and we weathered it through to half-time. They controlled the ball in the second-half, defended our box superbly and then it's an absolute sucker-punch in the 93rd minute."
Coyle recognised the defensive performance that was showcased throughout the game.
"We defended so well all game as a team, goalkeeper right through to the centre forwards. It's frustrating but again, performance wise very good and now we move onto Saturday."
Weather permitting, Thornhill Park plays host to Tuffley Rovers U18 on Thursday night as the Slimbridge 18s look to build on their 2-1 win over Cinderford Town U18.
Following this, we move onto Saturday as Willand Rovers take the trip to Slimbridge. We hope to see you there showing your support!
