The Swans demolished Pershore Town 5-0 this afternoon at Thornhill Park.
In a game that Slimbridge dominated, it may have taken 38 minutes for the first goal to come from Jack W Smith, but, following that, the result was never in doubt, and further goals from Jacob Rodgers, Hadyn Evans, a second from Smith and an absolute peach from Joey Shutt saw the Swans record an impressive victory that leaves them in third position in the Hellenic League, with games in hand on the two teams above them.
The first half was all Slimbridge - in three early first half minutes, two dangerous crosses from Jack W Smith were unlucky not to reap a reward, and Shutt's cross saw a Rogers header blocked all within the first ten minutes of play.
Joe Shutt was proving a huge thorn in the Pershore side, and after having an effort too high on 17 minutes, a Shutt diving header five minutes later from Charlie Mathews' cross was just off target.
On the half hour mark, Shutt had another effort too high, before, on 38 minutes, the deadlock was broken.
Shutt produced another dangerous cross into the Pershore box, and Jack W Smith was on hand to head the ball home within the Pershore six yard box and put the hosts into the lead.
Three minutes before the break, it was two - Another Shutt cross saw Pershore Keeper Joe Cunneen and Jack Knott collide as Cunneen went to gather. The ball fell to Jacob Rodgers, who with pinpoint accuracy from two yards out, drilled the ball home for Slimbridge's second.
Two minutes into the second period saw Pershore create their first effort on goal - Yuri Quintas was too high after gathering a cross from the Slimbridge left, but the home side were soon back in command - Jack W Smith had a great run and shot saved by Cunneen, and despite a goalmouth scramble, the ball was cleared.
On 52 minutes, Slimbridge got their third - a Free Kick from the Slimbridge right from Charlie Mathews found Hadyn Evans in space and he headed the ball easily past Cunneen.
Three minutes later, it was four - yet another Shutt cross saw Jack W Smith volley home his second of the game.
The goal of the game, however came on 67 minutes. Spotting Cunneen off his line, Shutt produce a marvellous 40 yard effort that sailed over the Pershore Keeper to put the game to bed.
Slimbridge played out the rest of the game comfortably to record another big win.
