But we all said it – as soon as that goal went in – we all turned around and said to each other ‘Look, we’ve still got 88 minutes, let’s bounce back, put in the performance that we know we can do, and the result showed we’ve got that character in this team, we were missing obviously a few key players today – Handsy was away, Nathan didn’t get here till late, but there was enough experience on the pitch to get us through the game.'

The performance of Hat Trick Hero, Jack Smith, one of the Under 18s side that broke through into the first team last season along with Theo Clayson, provided an encouraging start for this year's graduates - Will Tainton, Kieran Bennett and Devon Morgan.

Joint Manager Tom Deakin, talking to Severn Sports' Sam Yapp  was full of praise for all his 18'sgraduates at the final whistle - 'I thought that the impact Devon made in the first 30 seconds on the pitch was brilliant, he was really energetic, Kieran came on and did the same thing, and Taints – getting a goal from a move he started and finished – so all three lads coming into the team today, they’ve all stepped us for us, especially having played a game last night, they’ve been superb. 

The Swans entertain Mangotsfield United on Wednesday at Thornhill Park on Wednesday in their penultimate game of the season. Kick off is 7.45pm.
