It was the home side that opened the scoring after just 4 minutes, former Swan Tom Handley forced a double save from Slimbridge keeper Lewis Adams however Adams could not hold on to the ball and Joshua Grace-Parsons was lurking to force the ball home with Adams getting his hands to the ball on the way into the net.

Ben Hands lost the ball trying to play it out of the box, the ball was fed through to Grace-Parsons however Nathan Dennis managed to block his goal bound shot. A second goal came on 27 minutes, Harry Williams chipping the ball into the far corner of the net from the left edge of the box.

The home side continued to put pressure on the Swans but failed to increase their lead prior to the break.

Johan Flo was introduced at the break to give the visitors some much needed fire power up front.  However it was the home side that increased their lead on 53 minutes, Levi Irving firing a cross into the box from the left which Adams initially saved but the ball fell nicely to Grace-Parsons to fire into the net.

A fourth goal arrived for Cirencester on 66 minutes, Adams slipped while trying to head the ball clear outside of his box allowing Williams to nip past and tap the ball into an empty net.

Slimbridge still had to defend from the rampant home attack, Adams saving an Irving shot, then two clearances off the line the first from a corner after Willams shot was deflected over.  The second saw Ben Prictor hook over the bar.  The resulting corner found Williams in space at the back post for his third goal and Cirencester’s fifth.

The final goal came with 10 minutes remaining, Grace-Parsons breaking clear rounding Adams and slotting into the net for his third of the afternoon.

The Swans must regroup to host Barnstaple Town on Wednesday evening then league new boys Lymington Town make the trip to Thornhill Park next Saturday.
