Slimbridge are delighted to welcome Josh Wring to the club as the new Manager of the Under 18s team.  

Josh is currently a Physical Education Teacher and Head of House at Secondary School. Alongside working in Education he also has a great passion and enthusiasm for coaching. Josh worked at Forest Green Rovers Academy for 2 seasons (18/19 and 19/20), which gave him a great insight into the life of Academy football where he gained lots of valuable information and skills. While working at Forest Green Josh was able to work towards his UEFA B Licence, which he has now obtained.

Alongside his academy coaching Josh has the experience of working in Senior Mens Football, where he took on his first coaching role for Didmarton in the 2018/19 Season winning Stroud League Division 2. The following few seasons were disrupted with Covid-19 and league positions became null and void.

During his time at University Josh spent 3 summers working at Summer Camps as part of the “Soccer” programme in America.

Speaking to Josh about his appointment he said “Im looking forward to hopefully getting a full season under my belt without COVID interruption, and can’t wait for this new challenge ahead at such a great club!”

U18s Chairman David Morgan said,  “this is a great appointment for the club. Josh brings with him significant experience that will undoubtedly assist the team on their return to the Cheltenham Floodlit League next season.”
