Sporting Club Inkberrow came away from Thornhill Park with a throughly deserved three points after another sub par performance from the Swans.
Always chasing the game, Theo Clayson and Sam Blackie were on target for Slimbridge, but two unfortunate own goals for Captain Charlie Hitchings, as well as two well taken goals for the visitors saw them take the points.
In a microcosm of Slimbridge's season so far, in the first 12 minutes a goal from Inkberrow from Jay Higgins-Pugsley who was left too much space on the Slimbridge right flank was cancelled out by Theo Clayson from a yard out converting Shiyak Sutherland's cross.
Inkberrow were definitely in the ascendant though, and after Olly Phillips tipped a free kick from Will Skelton over the bar in 21 minutes, a cross saw Charlie Hitchings deflect the ball over the line to put the visitors ahead.
It only took four minutes for Slimbridge to equalise, Sam Blackie drilling the ball home from a Ben Deakin cross in what was turning out to be a very entertaining first half.
Clayson and Higgin-Pugsley both had good chances before the break, but the teams went into the half even.
Six minutes into the second period, the visitors were back in from when Hitchings deflected another cross into his own net, and the Inkberrow took a grip on the game when Will Skelton's turn and shot on the hour mark put the game to bed.
Sam Blackie had a good shot saved before Skelton had another effort denied by the post, and stoppage time saw two separate unsightly scuffles resulting in Jack Tolley for the visitors and then Nathan Dennis seeing straight red cards, as the game descended into a messy finale.
Slimbridge look to reset with a home game against Lydney Town on Bank Holiday Monday (3.00 KO).
