'My initial reaction is probably an apology – to everyone involved in Slimbridge Football Club tonight, whether it’s volunteers, supporters, bar staff, kitchen ladies, it’s just not acceptable to lose 7-1. They deserve much better than that result tonight. 

They were quicker than us, they were first to every ball, they started really well, scoring two goals really really quickly, it kind of knocked the stuffing out of us and we never recovered. 

There’s no doubt about the result, 7-1 is pretty emphatic and definitely the best team obviously won, and the only positive tonight is that we’ve got them here in ten days time, and we can put things right for the wrong’s we’ve done tonight. 

This wasn’t going to be a throwaway tonight, we wanted to go for this cup, the players knew that, we knew that, we all spoke about the cups, this was the one we wanted to go for, so there was no hiding away from the fact we wanted to win this game tonight, obviously it hasn’t happened. But yeah, we can now focus on the League, it’s a horrible cliché, , and nine cup finals to go!!’
