Keith Scott
Sunday 21st February 2021
We are saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Keith Scott yesterday.

Scotty was a stalwart of the club for over 20 years and played an instrumental part in helping the club achieve the elevation from the Stroud Leagues to our position in the Southern League today.  He was a well-respected and liked life member of the club serving on the committee for a majority of his time with the club.  Many tributes from past and present players and local clubs have been pouring in via social media since the news broke earlier today.

Alongside the likes of Paul Chappell and John Mack he worked tirelessly in the background to build up the facilities around Thornhill Park and would always be one of the first to volunteer to help out on projects around the ground accompanied by his faithful companion Woody.

On match days Keith also affectionately known as 'Santa' would often be found leaning on the railings watching the lads play, before joining them for a pint and some friendly banter in the clubhouse after the game.  Not only had he made many friends through the club over the years but was a popular character in the local area.

Paying tribute, club chairmen Barry Gay said 'News of Scotty’s passing came as a big shock. He was a great friend to many of us at the club and will be sadly missed by us all’.

Everyone at Slimbridge Football club would like to send our thoughts and sincere condolences to Keith’s family at this sad and difficult time.
